Admissions Process
- They’ll go over pertinent details including personal information and medical history to determine if Lifeskills is the right fit.
- Our Admissions Team will verify your health insurance benefits and payment options.
- After or during insurance verification, we will complete an admission assessment over the phone.
- Once clinical, medical, and financial needs have been confirmed, we will coordinate a date of admission and travel details.
- Upon arrival at Lifeskills, you or your loved one will be warmly welcomed by our staff, who will complete any remaining intake paperwork.

We can work with out-of-network benefits & some locations work with select in-network providers.
Does Lifeskills accept Medicare or Medicaid?
No
The cost of treatment depends on the length of stay and the level of care. We generally recommend a minimum of 60-90 days of treatment, with most clients beginning at the residential level of care. As insurance plans vary, most clients will use a combination of private pay and insurance benefits to cover their costs. Prior to treatment, we help each client determine the out-of-pocket costs needed to cover the anticipated length of stay and help them determine their out-of-network benefits.

What do you treat at Lifeskills?
Lifeskills South Florida specializes in treating adults with mental health disorders, substance use disorder, and dual diagnosis.
What can I expect during the first 30 days of treatment?
In addition to therapeutic programming seven days a week, the first 30 days may include medication management, setting personal goals, and identifying emotions that are obstructing your recovery. The team will use pre-assessments, intake information, previous medical records, and family assessments to customize an individual treatment plan, partnering you with clinicians that are best equipped to help you meet your goals. Psychological testing is offered for clients who may require further diagnostics to assist the team in setting the optimum treatment plan.
How long does treatment usually last at Lifeskills?
We achieve positive outcomes because we don’t put recovery on a timetable. Each client’s circumstances and treatment needs are different from many of our clients that average three months at our residential treatment program. The length of stay at Lifeskills is entirely dependent upon the unique needs of each of our clients, the complexity of their condition(s), and the rate at which progress is made. Clients are challenged to reintegrate into their community and achieve their personal treatment goals as quickly as they are able.
How will my family be involved in my treatment?
Our strong Family Support Program offers support, education, and guidance to you and your loved ones throughout the treatment process. Upon admission, you will be assigned a licensed therapist who will be in constant communication with your family, as you allow. Additionally, they will help facilitate family sessions, visitation, and any other family-related need that arises.
How will the Lifeskills program prepare me to live independently?
Our Lifeskills South Florida staff specializes in helping our patients find stability and focus on integrating back into their home, work, and family lives. Our continuum of care includes teaching community living skills and helping our clients reintegrate so they can live healthy and independent lives. Relapse prevention, self-monitoring, job skills, budgeting, nutrition, shopping, meal planning, and interpersonal skills learned through living with housemates are just some of the skills focused on during treatment. Each client can identify social support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Smart Recovery, and mental health support groups to seek support for themselves, work with a sponsor, and learn how to surround themselves with the healthy and supportive community needed to remain successful in recovery.
