QUESTION 1: What treatment programs do you offer, and how are they tailored to individual needs?

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT TO ASK: Every person struggling from mental health and/or addiction issues is unique, and a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment may not be effective. Understanding a facility’s treatment programs and how they are customized to address specific needs ensures that the individual will receive personalized care for their journey to recovery.

At Lifeskills, our customized and compassionate treatment programs are provided in therapeutic environments that promote well-being, recovery, and personal motivation. We offer a true continuum of care with a multidisciplinary treatment team approach. Listed below are our locations and levels of care:

  • Residential: In this closely structured and supportive therapeutic environment with 24/7 nursing support, we provide a non-traditional residential program for clients with complex psychiatric and co-occurring disorders or specific health-related medical complications. Clients develop new coping skills and practice daily routines while taking part in the therapeutic process, helping them successfully transition back to their homes, family lives, and careers.
  • Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs: Our PHP & IOP programs allow clients to expand their independent living skills while increasing their responsibilities. We welcome direct community members into care with many residential clients stepping into outpatient programs for a smoother transition back home.
  • Transitional Housing: Our Osceola Village transitional living community and Orlando residences allow individuals to step down to semi-independent living while attending outpatient programming.
  • Alumni Program: We connect the Lifeskills communities to our alumni, serve and guide our alumni and their families, and cultivate strong communities that can continue their recovery journeys together.

QUESTION 2: How do you assess and develop individualized treatment plans?

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT TO ASK: A personalized treatment plan is essential for effectively addressing underlying issues and promoting long-term recovery. Understanding how a treatment center assesses and develops these customized plans gives potential clients insight into the center’s commitment to holistic care.

At Lifeskills, we place a strong emphasis on individualized care. We conduct thorough assessments upon admission, involving comprehensive evaluations of mental health history, addiction severity, co-occurring disorders, and personal goals. Based on these assessments, our experienced clinical team collaborates to create a personalized treatment plan that integrates evidence-based therapies, counseling, group sessions, and experiential activities. This tailored approach allows us to address each client’s specific challenges and strengths, fostering a supportive environment for their recovery journey.

QUESTION 3: Can you describe the composition of your treatment team and the specific roles and qualifications?

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT TO ASK: The qualifications of the facility’s staff significantly impact the quality of care and the outcomes of the treatment they provide. Clients seeking care should feel confident that they are receiving treatment from highly skilled professionals who are experts in mental health and addiction. Knowing the team members’ credentials provides reassurance that they have the knowledge and experience to provide effective care.

At Lifeskills, our capabilities as a national center of clinical excellence come from our team of skilled master- and doctoral-level clinicians, counselors, psychiatrists, and medical professionals who possess a combination of clinical and first-hand experiences. This ensures we can provide effective mental health and addiction treatment plans that are healing and practical. Our staff members are committed to providing compassionate and effective care, and they regularly undergo training to stay up to date with the latest advancements in treatment modalities. We understand the importance of a supportive and qualified team in facilitating the recovery journey, and our staff’s dedication reflects our commitment to helping clients achieve a successful recovery.

QUESTION 4: What therapies and approaches do you use in treatment?

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT TO ASK: Different modalities of therapy can be effective for different individuals. Inquiring about the types of therapies offered allows potential clients to understand the treatment center’s approach and whether it aligns with their preferences and needs. At Lifeskills, as the foundation of our evidence-based practices, we offer Clinical Pathways, each of which is led by a doctoral-level or licensed clinician with additional national certifications in their area of expertise. Based on an assessment of clinical need and diagnosis, each client is prescribed the most appropriate primary and secondary clinical pathways. Throughout treatment, we’re flexible within our pathways to ensure that each client’s recovery journey is right for them. Our Clinical Pathways include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Remediation Therapy (CRT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Treatment, Substance Use Disorder, and Metabolic Fitness.

In tandem with our clinical pathways, Lifeskills uses multiple established therapies to meet each client’s specific clinical needs, including the following:

QUESTION 5: What amenities and recreational activities are available to support overall well-being?

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT TO ASK: Mental health and addiction treatment involve more than just therapy; overall well-being is essential for a successful and lasting recovery. Access to amenities and recreational activities can enhance the treatment experience and provide healthy outlets for stress relief.

At Lifeskills, we provide a whole-person approach to recovery. Our beautiful campuses are just minutes from the beach and include areas for reflection, outdoor walking paths, water features, pools, and tranquil areas for meditation. Additionally, we offer many additional amenities and activities, including cooking classes, yoga, paddle boarding, basketball, and more. Engaging in these activities can help reduce stress, promote self-care, and contribute to a positive treatment experience.
